Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative saves £20,000 per year with a cloud WMS
The Challenge
Founded in 1977, EBC is a workers’ co-operative carrying around 50,000 SKUs. It managed its warehouse with the WMS module of its ERP, which made finding and identifying stock difficult. As the business grew, inventory inaccuracies and slow order processing increased, and so did the risk of lost sales.
The Solution
After several months of research, EBC found that most WMS options required high initial set-up costs. SnapFulfil’s no-capex, RF-driven model could be funded directly from revenue, and it was compatible with EBC’s existing systems. Implementation took just two months, from project kick-off to stock take-on.
The Impact
Almost immediately, EBC was completing its daily workload with one person fewer and had eliminated most of its overtime. That equals an estimated saving of around £20,000 a year.
