Smarter Food Inventory Management with SnapFulfil
The Challenge
As Tovala expanded its meal delivery business across the United States, it needed a more consistent and reliable approach to inventory management. Its warehouse operations required specialized functionality beyond standard receiving and shipping, including lot tracking, expiry date management, and detailed product traceability.
The company also needed a configurable WMS that could integrate with its existing production processes and custom food industry software while supporting operations across multiple facilities.
The Solution
After evaluating more than 50 WMS providers, Tovala selected SnapFulfil for its flexibility, configurability, and cost-effectiveness.
Following extensive API testing and a tailored proof of concept, SnapFulfil was implemented remotely across two Chicago distribution centers simultaneously. Tovala subsequently expanded to a larger Utah facility through SnapFulfil's self-implementation program, using the system's configurable rules engine to adapt workflows to its operational requirements.
The Impact
SnapFulfil gave Tovala greater control over food inventory, improving visibility, traceability, and picking efficiency across its warehouse operations.
Enhanced lot and expiry date management helps prioritize products approaching their sell-by dates, while configurable picking workflows support more accurate inventory allocation and reduced waste.
Tovala also completed a full-facility stocktake in just one day during its Utah implementation, demonstrating the efficiency gains possible through improved processes and greater operational control.
