Transforming Temperature-Controlled Distribution
The Challenge
Moran Logistics needed a more flexible warehouse management system to support the demanding requirements of temperature-controlled food distribution. One major customer's products had a particularly short shelf life, with just 12 days between production and expiry.
Managing this fast-moving supply chain required precise product dating, stock rotation, retailer-specific EDI, repacking, and reverse logistics. Moran needed a configurable WMS capable of improving traceability, supporting complex workflows, and maintaining efficient operations across its distribution network.
The Solution
Moran Logistics selected SnapFulfil for its cloud-based architecture, 3PL expertise, and highly configurable warehouse management capabilities.
Implemented in just three weeks, SnapFulfil introduced more flexible picking processes, improved inventory tracking, and enhanced reporting. Configurable workflows supported product dating, stock rotation, and customer-specific requirements, while RF scanning helped streamline inventory movements.
The SnapFulfil team also worked closely with Moran to adapt labeling, printing, and data processes, supporting a rapid transition to the new system.
The Impact
SnapFulfil helped Moran Logistics rapidly increase warehouse throughput while improving the control and visibility needed for time-sensitive food distribution.
With more flexible picking and packing processes, daily output increased fourfold, rising from approximately 10,000 to 40,000 cases within just 13 weeks.
Enhanced traceability and inventory reporting also strengthened Moran's ability to manage product expiry dates, stock rotation, and operational resources. These improvements established a more scalable foundation for continued growth across its distribution network.
