FAQ - Understanding Rotation Methods

These rotation methods determine the sequence stock is assigned to outbound shipments when they are released, this is assigned to the SKU.

If a specific batch code is requested by way of a “special condition” this will override the rotation method

FIFO – First In First Out

LIFO – Last In First Out

F1

FIFO (Strict)

Picks the Oldest stock based on the following sequence Expiry date, Production Date, Release Date, Receipt date

F2

FIFO (Slot)

Picks the oldest stock in slot sequence

F3

FIFO (Stock)

Picks the oldest stock in the following sequence

·        No StU –  i.e. from a pick face

·        Composite StU – from stock on a composite StU

·        Non Standard StU – Pallets with a quantity less than the configured quantity

·        Standard StU – Pallets with the configured quantity

Then from the Strict Criteria

L1

LIFO (Strict)

Picks the youngest stock based on the following sequence Expiry date, Production Date, Release Date, Receipt date

X1

Lowest Slot Qty

Assigns stock from the pallet with the smallest quantity first then the next smallest quantity to ensure all the part-pallets are picked

X2

Largest Slot Qty

Assigns stock from the pallet with the largest quantity first then the next largest quantity etc.

No Preferred Method

Stock is picked in any sequence without any sortation applied
